| HISTORY 2 sisters, a log cabin and 50 acres. Such was the beginning of Robinwood Kennel. After buying the land in 1956 when Cold Spring was still mostly rural, Margaret and Ann Robinson, two single sisters from Fort Thomas, soon began keeping the pets of their friends for short periods of time. This trend continued and by 1970, Robinwood Kennel officially opened. Aided by their nephew, Joe, the kennel soon became the premier boarding facility in Campbell County and continued to grow in size and services. Today Robinwood Kennel has maintained the same commitment to service and value as when the Robinson sisters began. Although both Margaret and Ann have since passed on, the kennel is still owned and operated by their nephew Joe, and additionally staffed by Joe's wife Carol and sister Peggy. While at Robinwood, your dog will enjoy an indoor/outdoor run which is 3 feet wide by 15 feet long (5 feet long on the inside and 10 feet long on the outside). Each dog is separated from all the others by chain link fencing both inside and outside, and an additional small concrete block "half wall" on the inside provides safety and privacy while eating and sleeping. Each dog has his/her own access to his/her own outdoor run via a doggy door which is kept open weather permitting. For those who need more sniffing and stretching space and/or for those with extended stays, there is a large grassy, "exercise yard" which is rotated among our guests. In addition, walks or nature hikes can be provided, if requested, for a minimal fee. (Please rest assured, however, that even if you don't request it but we feel that your pet needs a walk/hike for optimal health and well being, we will walk him/her free of charge, regardless of whether or not you requested it.) When the weather is cold, kennel doors are kept closed, the furnace is turned on, and the dogs are let out several times throughout the day. In order to prevent fights, aggression and other behavioral issues that could turn physical, no two dogs are ever permitted to be together on the inside or outside unless the owner specifically requests it. Safety, health, happiness, and peace of mind are the three most important things we provide for you and your pet Robinwood's accommodations for cats include our "Cat House" building separate from the dog boarding facilities. Other small pets can also stay in this building. Each cat has his/her own 3 feet wide by 3 feet high by 4 feet deep cage with a higher shelf for relaxing. Fun objects such as mobiles, toys, and several windows provide stimulation to keep your cat satisfied. Why, on many occasions, your cat might just catch a glimpse of one of the horses strolling by in the nearby corral! Robinwood also offers GROOMING SERVICES for dogs and cats including:
Drop-Off / Pick-Up Hours Monday - Saturday: 8am - Noon & 4pm - 6pm Sunday: 4pm - 6pm Anytime by Appointment ROBINWOOD'S ADVANTAGES
